What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You will assist in reviewing management accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. You'll be hands-on with reconciliations and preparing the executive committee (Exco) pack, ensuring that all financial data is meticulously compiled and presented. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing payments to safeguard against inaccuracies, managing VAT returns efficiently, doing the cashbook and engaging in various financial operations that support our business's strategic objectives. This position offers the unique opportunity to influence the financial direction of our organisation, ensuring operational excellence across all financial facets. You'll also be managing two or three employees. Where you'll be doing it You'll be based at a prominent retail chain's Head Office in Cape Town CBD. What you'll need There are two possibilities with this role, we'll either look at someone with a Grade 12 with mathematics and/or accounting and at least 5 years background in finance OR, you've just completed your SAIPA articles. Either way, you'll need a clear understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. We're ideally looking for someone from the retail industry but are open to exploring other industries if it's still stock related. Competency in Excel and computer literacy is a must, along with reliable transportation to our Cape Town CBD offices. What you'll get There is a basic salary plus contribution to medical aid, pension and a bonus in December. After a couple of months of working in office, there will be some flexibility to work from home one or two days a week. They work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
