Accountant (CPT Hybrid)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic Financial Services provider seeks the numerical expertise of a solutions-driven Accountant to play a critical role in supporting the accounting function, ensuring accurate and efficient financial transactions, and driving process improvements. You will prepare and review financial transactions and reports, investigate and resolve outstanding queries while compiling and preparing monthly and year-end reconciliations. Applicants will require a Degree in Accounting or Financial Management with a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in Accounting or Financial Management with Intermedia to Advanced Excel proficiency. This is a great opportunity to learn about a business within the insurance industry - not your traditional accounting position.

DUTIES:

• Support the accounting function for the business.
• Accurately, efficiently capture and report transactions.
• Prepare and review financial transactions and reports.
• Compile and prepare monthly and year-end reconciliations.
• Identify and report accounting or reporting issues.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding queries related to accounting issues or reconciliations.
• Operational involvement in credit control and retention process.
• Process on policy administration system while considering impact on operational processes and the clients.
• Prepare and send out monthly reports for insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries.
• Recalculation of premium transactions to check accuracy of system data.
• Perform group scheme member premium reconciliations and liaise with group to resolve differences and arrears.
• Perform reconciliation and completeness checks between line of business system and data warehouse reports.
• Prepare and/or review statutory reporting.
• Meet company reporting deadlines.
• Contribute to the enhancement of systems and processes to improve financial management.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate and contribute to a culture that builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback, and provides exceptional client service within the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
• At least 3 to 5 years working experience in Finance, not Article only experience.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
