Location: Cameroon
Key Responsibilities:
Statutory Tax:
- Manage statutory tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance for Direct and Indirect Taxes (monthly and annual).
- Handle declarations, postings, filings, and coordination with tax consultants.
- Prepare transfer pricing documentation.
- Ensure timely tax payments and post transactions on SAP.
Record to Report (R2R):
- Execute monthly closing runs and handle related tasks in collaboration with the R2R team.
- Ensure timely approvals and creation of journal entries.
- Provide back-up support for Functional Area (FA02 – learnings).
- Complete IFRS 16 ROU investment forms and handle monthly HFM tasks.
- Review balance sheet accounts and perform housekeeping activities.
Internal Control:
- Reconcile payroll for internal control steps.
Petty Cash Handling:
- Disburse petty cash to employees after obtaining proper approvals.
- Collate and send petty cash details and supporting attachments to WSSC for posting.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of petty cash payments.
Internal Audit:
- Coordinate with internal auditors for FY2024 audit preparation (scheduled for April 2025).
VAT Refund Claim/WHT Certificates:
- Gather invoices and other necessary documents for VAT refund claims.
- Visit customers to follow up on WHT certificates for amounts withheld from vendors.
Daily Operational Activities/Admin/Secretarial Support:
- Follow up on bank payment uploads for signatories' approval.
- Create purchase orders for office expenses (e.g., electricity, cleaners, fuel cards).
- Initiate billing for intercompany rebill activities.
- Perform company secretary tasks, including updates to legal and secretarial documents.
Treasury Activities/Vendor Payment:
- Coordinate necessary documentation for vendor payments (local and foreign).
- Manage vendor registration in Yaoundé.
- Coordinate and arrange payments for staff and vendors.
- Perform weekly vendor payment runs and verify vendor invoices.
- Support Mutuelle (cooperative) with all company payment activities.
- Withdraw cash from the bank for employee meal allowances and manage cash transactions.
Statutory Audit:
- Coordinate statutory audits with auditors.
- Gather audit information and prepare notes for financial statements.
- Convert the trial balance to the local format for statutory audits.
- Perform reconciliation and prepare bridge reports.
- Post Period 14 journals on SAP.
Regulatory Audit:
- Collect data required for company direct and indirect tax audits.
- Collect data required for customs audits and social audits.
- Attend and interface with authorities for audits, including potential travel to other provinces (at the company’s expense).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Relevant qualification required in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in statutory tax, record-to-report, internal controls, and audit functions.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency in SAP and Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
