Accountant / Bookkeeper

About the position

Requirements:

• Fluency in Afrikaans & English
• SAIPA qualification or 10+ years of bookkeeping experience within an accounting/auditing practice
• Proficiency in DraftWorx / CaseWare
• Pleasant, outgoing personality
• Articles not essential
• Any relevant qualification preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Tax & Compliance

• Submission of tax returns to SARS
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Financial Processing & Reporting

• Monthly write-up of clients
• Process and capture data on Pastel
• Financial record management: 95% Accounting and 5% Auditing
• Verification of financial information
• Processing financial data in various journals
• Managing and analyzing debtors and creditors accounts
• Preparing and maintaining the fixed asset register
• Capturing cashbooks
• Creating trial balances and financial statements
• Drafting annual financial statements
• Preparing and analysing audit files
• Conducting reconciliations
• Managing engagement teams

Financial Section

• Full financial processing to annual financial statements for small businesses
• Managing accounts receivable (debtors)
• Managing accounts payable (creditors)
• VAT and tax return preparation and submissions

Desired Skills:

• DraftWorx / CaseWare
• SAIPA qualification
• Fluency in Afrikaans & English

• Degree
