About the position
Our client is seeking an Accountant (African Branches) to take ownership of financial compliance, controls, and audit readiness across their operations in Africa.
This exciting role offers the opportunity to travel extensively, apply your technical knowledge in a practical environment, and strengthen your expertise in IFRS and audit processes.

Minimum requirements:
- BCom Accounting / Finance degree.
- Completed SAICA / SAIPA Articles.
- 0–2 years’ post-articles experience (recently qualified candidates encouraged to apply).
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across African regions.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and audit processes.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel essential) and ERP systems (SAP advantageous).

Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct regular visits to African branches to review financial records, internal controls, and compliance.
- Ensure branch financial processes align with group policies and IFRS standards.
- Identify gaps and risks in financial systems and implement practical solutions.
- Prepare branches for internal and external audits by ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
- Provide training and support to local finance teams to strengthen reporting and compliance.
- Monitor reconciliations, stock controls, and asset registers at branch level.
- Consolidate and report findings to head office with clear recommendations.
- Act as liaison between group finance and branch offices.
