Accountant (6 month Contract)

About the position

Supports the Financial Department through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying validity, completeness and accuracy.

• Processing of cashbook and reconciliation daily
• Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Maintenance of fixed asset register and reconciliation monthly
• Preparation for month end and rollover of Syspro accounting system
• Balance sheet reconciliations of all accounts
• Income statement analysis of processing
• Processing of journals in Syspro
• Reconciliation and preparation of monthly inter-company schedule
• VAT to sales reconciliation
• VAT submission
• Reconciliation and processing of fleet and credit cards monthly
• Audit preparations for interim and final audits (4 weeks each) - external auditors

Qualification / Skills / Knowledge Required

• Grade 12
• Degree (BCom Accounting) or related qualification
• Advanced Excel skills
• Syspro essential
• Ability to work under pressure and good time management skills
• Self-motivated, team player who enjoys problem solving
• Good verbal and written communication
