About the position

A well-known water treatment solutions company requires the above to trouble shoot and run trials at customers within the industrial, municipal, commercial, and institutional water treatment markets, ensuring that company achieves the revenue, profitability, and market share objectives aligned with the company’s portfolio of water treatment chemistry, design, and equipment offerings.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  •  A tertiary qualification in either chemistry or chemical engineering or environmental science, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked within the water treatment or related industry is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked within the boiler and cooling, potable; clarification; effluent, and related water industries is essential for the role.
  • Technical knowledge of water treatment processes, chemistry, and equipment (boiler, cooling, wastewater, reverse osmosis, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing realistic sales budgets for your area which is approved by your regional and or district manager.
  • Achieving your budgeted sales and profit plan. By expanding current product penetration within existing customers and continually adding new customers.
  • Maintaining an attrition rate of <15% per annum.
  • Managing a sales ladder with realistic new business targets.
  • Responsible for the sales and servicing of your customers.
  • Immediately reporting any jeopardy accounts to your Regional and or District Manager and complete the jeopardy account report sheet.
  • Immediately reporting any lost business accounts to your Regional and or District Manager and complete a lost account form.
  • Responsible for annual reviews of all strategic and major accounts in your region, in order to ascertain account status and set new mutually agreed to goals for the new year.
  • Training and motivating all staff members seconded to you by your regional and or district manager.
  • Accompanying all seconded sales staff on sales and service calls in order to establish their competency and the state of their accounts and to develop a training plan which will enhance their sales and service skills.
  • Supplying regional and or district manager with a monthly area report outlining your activities, sales results and opposition activities.
  • Supporting the company with development and introduction of new products or programs.
  • Developing skills by pursuing company sponsored/approved technical, sales and management programs.
  • Supporting company activities and philosophy/embrace the company core values.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
