Introduction

To strategically manage and grow a portfolio of high-value, complex customer accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships, sustained revenue growth, and measurable customer value. The role operates at a senior level, influencing customer strategy, shaping commercial outcomes, and contributing to broader business objectives.

Description
KEY Responsibilities

 

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Own and drive the strategic direction of assigned key accounts
  • Build executive-level relationships with customer stakeholders
  • Position the organisation as a trusted partner within the customer’s business
  • Develop multi-year account strategies aligned with customer and company goals
 

 Revenue Growth & Commercial Ownership

  • Identify and structure complex upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including contracts, renewals, and pricing
  • Manage account profitability and long-term value
 

Customer Value & Success Strategy

  • Ensure customers achieve measurable business outcomes from software solutions
  • Drive high levels of product adoption across customer organisations
  • Anticipate risks and proactively implement retention strategies
  • Lead executive business reviews focused on value realisation
 

 Stakeholder Influence & Governance

  • Engage and influence C-level and senior decision-makers
  • Act as the escalation point for critical customer issues
  • Align internal stakeholders around customer strategy and priorities
  • Advocate for customer needs in product and business planning
 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate complex solution delivery across multiple departments
  • Mentor and support junior account managers where applicable
 

Forecasting, Planning & Reporting

  • Develop accurate revenue forecasts and strategic account plans
  • Track and report on account performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Contribute insights to leadership for business planning and strategy.
 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Revenue growth and expansion within key accounts
  • Customer retention and renewal rates
  • Account profitability
  • Customer satisfaction and loyalty TVET
  • Strategic account plan execution
  • Product adoption and enterprise-wide usage
 

Internal & External Interfaces

·       Internal: Senior Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Support, R&D and Finance

·       External: Executive sponsors, senior stakeholders, procurement, and operational teams within customer organisations.



Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, IT, Engineering or related field.

·       Postgraduate qualification or MBA advantageous.

·       6–10 years’ experience in professional services, consulting, or service delivery environment.

·       3–5 years in a management or leadership role.

·       Proven experience managing complex projects and customer portfolios.
