About the position
A well-known and established mining chemical company requires the above to manage their large top Gold Mining Key Accounts for them, providing them with a range of mining chemicals such as Cyanide, Activated Carbon, Flocculants, etc on a national basis.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A qualification in Business, or Commerce, or Engineering, or Metallurgy, or Chemistry, or Mining, or a related field is preferred for the role.
- Previous experience having worked within the chemical mining and/or water treatment industry supplying mines is essential for this role.
- A background in minerals processing plant operations is preferred but not essential.
- The successful candidate must have excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills as well as be able to provide technical leadership and mentoring.
- Previous experience having managed Key Accounts within the mining industry is essential for the role.
- Experience managing strategic customer relationships and commercial contracts.
- The company is happy to train a graduate Chemical Engineer or Metallurgist or related qual with no or limited experience into the mining and chemical industries.
- Computer literacy in MS Office is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing large senior Key Accounts within the gold mining industry by providing them with a range of mining chemicals such as Cyanide, Activated Carbon, Flocculants, etc on a national basis.
- Developing, maintaining, and growing strategic customer relationships within the mining sector.
- Protecting and expanding business within existing accounts, identifying opportunities for increased product and service penetration, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Developing account growth plans and customer engagement strategies.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of customer operations, challenges, and future requirements.
- Conducting regular customer visits, business reviews, and performance meetings, at a minimum of once per quarter
- Identifying opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts.
- Developing business cases and commercial proposals supporting growth opportunities.
- Monitoring account performance against revenue and margin objectives.
- Negotiating pricing within approved pricing frameworks and margin guidelines.
- Managing customer contract renewals and commercial agreements.
- Providing expert technical support to customers.
- Creating and executing project work plans and services as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
