About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
Our client is a prominent organisation focused on supporting research advancement and human capital development through funding programmes, research infrastructure, and science outreach initiatives across a broad range of disciplines. The Acceptance and Compliance Technician will be responsible for establishing and upholding quality specifications, ensuring that all goods and services received meet defined standards across multiple operational sites, with regular travel required between locations. The role includes inspecting, checking, and testing materials and components delivered by external suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements and support overall operational excellence.
DUTIES
- Perform quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Manage stores and inventory.
- Ensure compliance management across engineering operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to support operational objectives.
- Maintain documentation and record-keeping for all quality and compliance activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualification:
- B-Tech Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or similar; OR
- National Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar); OR
- N5 completed in Electrical, Mechanical, or similar.
- Valid driver's license.
- Hyster licence (advantageous).
Experience:
- BTech qualification coupled with 5 years of experience in an engineering operations or construction environment; OR
- National Diploma coupled with 6 years of experience; OR
- N5 coupled with 8 years of experience.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
- Working understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management system requirements.
Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) software or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Work experience in an engineering plant or environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety.
