Acceptance and Compliance Technician

About the position

The Acceptance and Compliance Technician will be responsible for ensuring and establishing the quality specifications and ensuring that goods and services received meet the quality specifications at the facilities at Science Operations Centre (SOC) in Cape Town and the Engineering Operations Centre (EOC) in Klerefontein, Carnarvon, Northern Cape. Frequent travel between the two sites will be required. This may also include checking and testing materials and parts delivered from external suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Quality Assurance
• Quality Control
• Stores and Inventory Management
• Compliance Management
• Collaboration with maintenance teams
• Documentation and record keeping

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualification:

• B-Tech Engineering in electrical, mechanical or similar, or
• National Diploma Engineering in electrical, mechanical or similar, or
• N5 completed in electrical , mechanical or similar. AND
• Valid driver's license
• Hyster licence (advantageous)

Experience:

• BTech qualification coupled with 5 years’ experience in the engineering operations or construction environment, or
• National Diploma coupled with 6 years’ experience, or
• N5 coupled with 8 years’ experience
• Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings (electric and mechanical)
• Working understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system requirements.

Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) software or similar.
• Microsoft Office
• Work experience in an engineering plant or environment is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety
