Academic Module Guide Writer and Moderator - Data Analytics

We are seeking independent contractors with expertise across key areas of data analytics, including the fundamentals of data analytics, database management systems, data analysis strategies, and applied data analytics. The role also requires knowledge of business intelligence and data visualisation, as well as emerging approaches such as data analytics with generative artificial intelligence. In addition, candidates should demonstrate an understanding of ethical and privacy considerations in data analytics to ensure responsible and compliant data practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

CORE PURPOSE:

• The Module Guide Writer: To develop the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System
• The Module Guide Moderator: To moderate the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System

CORE FUNCTIONS:

• The Module Guide Writer: To develop the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System
• The Module Guide Moderator: To moderate the module guide content aligned to the module outcomes and associated assessment criteria as per the requirements provided using the online Curriculum Development and Management System

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATION(S):

• A relevant PHD NQF Level 10 qualification (with extensive academic experience) or

• A relevant Masters NQF Level 09 qualification (with extensive academic experience) or

• A relevant Honours NQF Level 08 qualification (with extensive academic experience)

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-5 years Academic experience
• Module Guide Development or Moderation experience

RELATED KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of the South African Higher Education Regulatory Framework

• Ability to work within pre-determined time frames and meet deadlines

• Excellent academic writing and communication skills

• Ability to demonstrate professionalism in academic writing

• Proficient in the use of technological systems

• Possess a high level of ethics

• Knowledge of Blooms Taxonomy verbs and SAQA Level descriptors
