Duties & Responsibilities
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS EXCELLENCE
POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
Economics or related fields including Applied Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics, Public Economics, and Macroeconomic/Microeconomic Analysis (UG/PG).
CORE PURPOSE:
To provide academic leadership across a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Economics modules across the wider institution, where Economics forms part of various programme structures.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
• Serve as Module Coordinator for Economics modules (SME)
• To facilitate face-to-face and online lectures
• Develop, review and moderate curriculum and assessments in Economics
• Provide Academic consultation and student support.
• Grade assessments and provide timely stakeholder feedback.
• Undertake programme and module reviews.
• Engage actively in research and academic publishing
• Supervise postgraduate research in Economics and related fields.
• Identify at-risk students and provide appropriate pastoral care.
• Execute programme and quality management administrative tasks.
Desired Experience & Qualification
QUALIFICATION(S):
• An appropriate doctoral qualification, or a specialist Master's degree in Economics or related fields (Applied Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, etc.).
• Professional membership with ESSA or AEASA, or affiliation with recognised research bodies, will be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE:
• 3 years' teaching experience in a higher education institution, with demonstrated competence in curriculum delivery and assessment design in Economics.
