Shukela Training Centre has a 3-year apprenticeship opportunity for aMechanical Apprenticeshipbased at Mount Edgecombe

This role will report to the Technical Training Manager (Mechanical)

The Shukela Training Centre (STC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African Sugar Association (SASA). STC was established in 1972 and is dedicated to the provision of agricultural skills and qualifications and apprentice/artisan and maintenance-worker training. The STC is the preferred training provider for South African and SADC sugarcane farmers and sugar producing companies as well as numerous other companies and some private individuals

Duties:

• Opportunity to obtain a nationally recognized and fully qualified Fitter and Turner qualification
• Gain practical experience and earn while you learn with the Shukela Training Centre
• Bring your enquiring mind to resolve common technical problems
• Receive structured multi-functional on the job training and work under the supervision of a qualified Artisan
• Exposure on various components of the Fitter and Turner trade
• Gain experience in working on machines (disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble machines/equipment and other workshop activities)

The successful candidate must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Minimum Qualification - Matric and Technical N2 (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawings and Fitter and Turner trade Theory), OR Technical N3 (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawings and Fitter and Turner Trade Theory / Mechanotechnology OR Technical N4 (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Mechanical Draughting and Mechanothechnics)

Salary:

• You will receive a monthly stipend of R5 000 per month
