About the position
Our client, a leading automotive production company, is currently looking to hire 2 x Temp Project Engineers to join their team in Kariega, Eastern Cape. This will be a fixed-term contract position of 6 - 8 months and will form part of the Logistics Division.
About the role:
To plan, design, develop, implement, and maintain logistics systems, material handling facilities, and transport solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering / Logistics /Project or Operations Management
- Minimum 3 years' experience in logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Project Engineer in Logistics Planning or similar function
- Minimum 2 years' Project Management experience
- Experience with CAD systems, Power BI , Simulation Programs
- Experience working with external contractors on facility development/modifications
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and implement logistics projects, production requests, and improvement initiatives
- Design and implement logistics facilities (racking, packaging, storage, trolleys, pallets, etc.)
- Develop production and warehouse layouts using CAD systems
- Coordinate project meetings and liaise with stakeholders across departments
- Develop and optimise packaging specifications to reduce cost and prevent damage
- Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and operational standards
