The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will play a pivotal role in enabling business performance and employee engagement across designated departments. By collaborating closely with leadership, the HRBP will design, implement, and refine people solutions that enhance individual, team, and organisational effectiveness.
Our client is looking to employ a Human Resources Business Partner based in La Lucia, Durban
RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations
- Provide expert guidance on misconduct, grievances, incapacity, performance issues, and CCMA cases.
- Ensure all ER processes comply with South African labour legislation and internal policies.
- Draft disciplinary documents, letters, charges, and outcomes.
- Support disciplinary hearings and mediation of sensitive matters.
- Represent the organisation at the CCMA when required.
- Monitor employee trends and advise management on corrective interventions.
Talent, Performance & Succession
- Conduct exit interviews and analyse trends.
- Support talent sourcing, career fairs, and graduate programmes.
- Facilitate performance discussions and coach managers on development planning.
- Drive performance improvement processes.
- Review succession plans and support internal talent development.
Organisational Effectiveness & Employee Wellbeing
- Support culture, engagement, and communication initiatives.
- Analyse onboarding and culture surveys and support action planning.
- Coordinate wellness initiatives and EAP access.
- Provide support on benefits, leave, payroll queries, and disability management.
- Monitor sick leave and advise on appropriate interventions.
Learning & Development
- Collaborate with L&D to identify relevant training interventions.
- Align learning initiatives with EE and succession objectives.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Analyse turnover, engagement and people trends.
- Provide insights for decision-making.
- Prepare monthly HR reports.
HR Governance, Administration & Projects
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity.
- Support payroll inputs, HR meetings, projects, and policy updates.
- Uphold ethical conduct and confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere to procurement policies when sourcing providers.
Responsibilities:
- Matric is a must!
- National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management
- Postgraduate qualifications in HR, Labour Relations, or Business Management (Advantageous)
- Professional registration (SABPP, IPM) or progress toward it (Advantageous)
- 4-6 years' progressive HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in an HRBP or generalist role.
- Proven experience in employee relations and CCMA preparation/representation.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with management to deliver people-centric solutions.
- Experience analysing HR metrics and supporting culture/engagement programmes
