Our client is looking to employ a Human Resources Business Partner (6 Month Contract) based in La Lucia, Durban
RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations
- Provide expert guidance on misconduct, performance, incapacity, grievances and CCMA-related matters.
- Draft disciplinary documentation and ensure compliance with labour legislation.
- Offer support during disciplinary and grievance processes, including mediation.
- Represent the organisation at CCMA where required.
Talent, Performance & Succession
- Drive exit interviews and provide insights to reduce turnover.
- Support talent pipeline initiatives, workplace experience programmes, and career events.
- Coach managers on performance discussions and development planning.
- Lead performance improvement interventions and support succession planning.
Organisational Effectiveness & Employee Wellbeing
- Support culture and engagement initiatives, and analyse feedback surveys.
- Coordinate wellness initiatives, EAP support, trauma counselling, and employee benefits queries.
- Monitor sick leave trends and support disability and injury-on-duty processes.
Learning & Development
- Partner with L&D to identify training needs aligned to EE and succession goals.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Analyse HR metrics (turnover, exits, engagement) and propose action plans.
- Prepare accurate monthly HR reports and insights.
HR Governance, Administration & Projects
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR systems.
- Assist payroll with new engagements.
- Coordinate HR meetings, events, and projects.
- Review and update HR policies.
- Uphold confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric is must!
- A Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Human Resource Management
- A postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or Business Management is advantageous
- Professional registration or progress toward registration with SABPP, IPM etc is advantageous
- 4-6 years' progressive HR experience, including 2-3 years in an HRBP/generalist role.
- Strong ER experience, including disciplinary processes, grievances, incapacity, and CCMA exposure.
- Proven ability to partner with management to drive people solutions.
- Experience analysing HR data and supporting culture and engagement initiatives.
