A leading consulting company is looking to recruit an Investment Officer.

Responsibilities:

- Significant activities include evaluating investment opportunities, by managing due diligence processes, structuring and negotiating private equity transactions, working with portfolio companies to drive value creation.
- Commercial due diligence: Undertake focused due diligence to understand the growth potential of a small business (including assessment of the market opportunity, business model, and core team), and structure a full investment proposal.
- Deal structuring and negotiations: Design transactions, including capital structuring, legal structuring, and ongoing support structuring for target investments.
- Growth strategy: Learn and apply the company's SME Growth Acceleration Strategy methodology to help small businesses develop a pragmatic, operationally grounded, clear strategy and plan to maximise sustainable, profitable growth.
- SME growth management support: learn and apply the company's Growth Management Strategy methodology to help small businesses execute a clear growth strategy and plan.
- Enterprise Development research: undertake various research on global and local best practice in Enterprise Development, including financial and non-financial services.

Requirements:

Education:

- MBA from a highly regarded institution.
- Alternatively, an undergraduate degree with a strong problem solving and quantitative underpinning (e.g. Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Business Science, BSc).
- Alternatively, a tertiary degree with an outstanding performance track record with one of the top management consulting firms.
- Smart: Top 1 to 5 percentile academic results, 4 year university degree.

Working Experience:

- 4 – 6 years in business consulting with one of the following firms: Accenture (strategy division), Bain & Co, BCG, Burlington, McKinsey, Monitor, with a balance between business strategy and operations exposure.
- 2+ years Management experience in a start-up venture, small business, or NGO environment.
