Introduction
Kalagadi Manganese is a female owned Mining Company in Southern Africa and is one of the world’s leading Manganese producers. Kalagadi Manganese Mine is situated in the town of Hotazel 70km from Kuruman, Northern Cape Province.

Description
To provide necessary Supply Chain Management input in the preparation of Procurement operating plan, budgets, and expenditure.
To ensuring that policies, procedures, guidelines and buying documents are updated and remain appropriate.
To participate in contributing to the activities of the Mine and Operational Teams to ensure that targets, cost control, operational budgets safe working conditions and good corporate governance are achieved.
To ensures that operational teams and Contractors use a uniform method of procurement in compliance with the Company Supply Chain Management policy and procedure.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Purchasing or any procurement qualifications and contract management experience in the mining sector as well as experience in commercial law.
- Certificate in Procurement or CIPS qualifications or B.com degree.
- Recognised SAQA accredited qualification in purchasing in an engineering or mining environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid code B/EB driver’s licence.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Participates in the development of a suitable organisational and reporting structure to meet the needs for local buying services provided to operational activities at the mine.
- Ensure participation of local BEE suppliers in the procurement activities of the company.
- Ensure availability of competent and qualified suppliers in execution of buying activities.
- Where required, participate in the management, guidance, leadership, and control of the procurement process as required.
- Evaluate/assess the competency of appointed or potential vendors and recommend appointments or terminations where necessary.
- Provide competent management and control where changes or variations occur and ensure that these are properly documented and communicated to all parties.
- Determine, in conjunction with the mine personnel, the requirements for local buying: equipment, goods and services and labour.
- Continually assist in reviewing buying policies, procedures, and guidelines in all relevant areas to eliminate unnecessary constraints and effect cost savings.
- Identify areas where the competent buying services will minimise or eliminate threats and risks.
