About the position
Job Summary:
To support the Transport Finance Manager in the financial aspects of Bridge Transport (Regional and South African Operations) in order to provide a cost effective service in accordance with company policies, objectives and goals that satisfies the needs of the customer and ensures a return on shareholder's investments.
Plan, direct and action Divisional accounting activities by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinates:
- Compliance with Group Standard with regards to directing the division's activities around producing monthly financial reports which reflect the Division's actual performance against planned performance, research new products/services to evaluate financial viability and forecast performance.
- Preparation of accounts, financial planning and budgeting, reporting of budget variances, cost control and cost analysis programmes, segregation of duties.

Support the financial manager in all tasks specifically:
- Management of working capital through:
- daily engagement with operations.

- Management of the financial and accounting interface of Carlo and SAP.
- Daily review of financial data accuracy and management of operational margins.
- Relevant and timeous management information and budgeting in order to be able to swiftly make decisions.
- Regional roll out of systems and financial process improvements.
- Being the key point of contact to streamline the Transport division's interaction with the centralized debtors, finance, payments and IT teams.
- Manage creditors, creditors terms, reconciliations and payment on time.
- Manage cash flow forecasts.
- Send out and compile forecast /dashboards.
- Costing of business transactions.
- Thorough analysis of accounting data improve underperforming areas within the Division creating efficiencies and reducing costs to maximise working capital for business growth.
- Reporting on results of all activities and variances
- Monthly audit file completion and dealing with auditors
- Management of internal controls and procedures
- Set up SOP's and controls.
- Budgets and monthly management accounts completion.
- Prepare, analyse and present monthly financials reports and packs in compliance with industry legislation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Regulatory Guidelines.
- Prepare, in conjunction with other senior management , annual budgets and forecasts and 5 year forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of divisional financial information by given deadlines.
- People management and development.
- Comply with all statutory requirements, e.g. VAT Returns, STATS SA, SARB applications.
- Invoices are raised promptly, reach customers promptly and are complete and accurate.
- Queries and disputes with customers and suppliers are resolved urgently and quickly.
- The daily cash flow forecast is kept up-to-date and is accurate.

Education:
- Grade 12.
- B.Com (Accts) CIMA or equivalent qualification Accounting Degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience working in a similar role.
- 3 years administration experience.
- Previous experience in logistics would be advantageous.
- Experience in Financial analysis, Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial software systems.
