Senior Commercial Underwriter

About the position

Senior Commercial Underwriter with minimum 2 years Team Leader experience and minimum 5 years' commercial underwriting experience in a Broker environment, required to oversee and guide a team of commercial underwriters for this national Broker Firm based in Cape Town CBD.

Minimum requirements

• Short Term Insurance related qualifications essential - NQF4 / NQF5 or similar
• RE5 essential
• Minimum 5 years commercial underwriting experience essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Team Leader role required
• Previous experience in a Broker environment preferred

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and guide a team of commercial underwriters, ensuring high standard of underwriting, compliance and client service
• Accurate and professional communication with all stakeholders
• Address client complaints
• Generate reports and conduct quality assessment
• Develop training material and procedures
• Renewals and endorsements
• Re Brokes
• Age Analysis
• Cancellations
• Refunds
• Invoicing
• Client retention
