Refrigeration Technician

About the position

We are seeking a qualified Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled artisan with expertise in refrigeration systems and experience working with Ammonia. As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our cold storage facility, ensuring that it operates efficiently and reliably. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on refrigeration equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components to restore proper operation of refrigeration equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Monitor temperature and humidity levels within the cold storage facility and make adjustments as needed.
• Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly in accordance with industry regulations.
• Work with Ammonia and other gases as necessary for system maintenance and repairs.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operation of the cold storage facility.
• Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in refrigeration systems.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade qualification as a Refrigeration Technician or similar field.
• Proven experience working with refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Familiarity with Ammonia and other gases used in refrigeration applications.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
