About the position

Role Title: Legal Advisor - 12 month FTC

Job Description: Our esteemed client is on the lookout for a Legal Advisor who is not just versed in the law but thrives in the pulsating world of telecommunications. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of legal strategy and compliance in a sector that is connecting Africa to the future.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the legal compass for a company shaping Africa's telecoms landscape, ensuring the ship sails smoothly through regulatory waters and contractual agreements.
- Craft and fine-tune contracts with a surgeon's precision, safeguarding the company's interests while weaving through the legal framework.
- Keep a vigilant eye on the legal horizon, staying ahead of regulatory shifts and industry waves to steer the company towards opportunities and away from risks.
- Join forces with diverse teams, wielding your legal expertise as a shield to mitigate risks and devise bulletproof strategies.
- Champion the creation and roll-out of corporate policies that are not only compliant but set the gold standard for industry best practices.
- Stand as the company's legal gladiator in the arena of legal proceedings, whether it's in negotiation, mediation or litigation.
- Maintain a meticulous archive of legal activities, ensuring each document is a testament to the company's commitment to due process and excellence.
- Illuminate the path for colleagues with your legal knowledge, fostering a culture of awareness and respect for the legal guardrails that protect and guide the company.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Law, with a preference for those with an LL.M. to their name.
- A proud bearer of Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
- A solid 3-5 year track record in the legal trenches of the telecommunications sector, with a focus on regulatory compliance and contract mastery.
- A deep, working knowledge of telecommunications law, capable of translating complex legal jargon into actionable business strategies.
- A proven negotiator and contract connoisseur with an eagle's eye for detail and a penchant for analytical thinking.
- An independent operator who can also flourish in a team, adept at juggling multiple priorities without missing a beat.
- An exceptional communicator and relationship builder, able to engage and persuade stakeholders at every level.
- A paragon of integrity and professionalism, treating confidential information with the utmost discretion and sound judgment.
