Lead Product Engineer (Developer) (JHB Hybrid) (Contract)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

DEVELOP customized solutions tailored to specific needs to ensure development goals are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner as your coding expertise is sought to fill a 6-Month Contract role as a Lead Product Engineer by an established IT Services company in Johannesburg. You will help gather & analyse requirements, design system architecture, and implement innovative solutions while utilising expertise in AWS to design and implement scalable and highly available cloud-based applications. Applicants will require a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline with 5+ years work experience with AWS, Java 11 or higher, Spring Boot and Angular. You will also need knowledge of SWIFT standards and its integration into financial systems.

DUTIES:

• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse requirements, design system architecture, and implement innovative solutions.
• Utilize expertise in AWS to design and implement scalable and highly available cloud-based applications.
• Apply CBPR+ principles to ensure data privacy and protection throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop responsive web applications using Angular 13 or higher.
• Utilize Docker for containerization of applications and microservices.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and automated software delivery processes.
• Familiarity with Rancher for container orchestration and management.
• Work with Trace Transformer to analyse and optimize system performance and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications -

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience/Skills -

• 5+ Years experience with AWS, Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• SWIFT standards and their integration into financial systems.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of concepts like high availability and their application in software development.

Advantageous –

Experience with Rancher, Trace Transformer, and Postgres.
