About the position
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with business leaders to understand their objectives and develop HR strategies that support business growth and performance.
- Providing HR generalist support, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation and benefits administration.
- Utilizing arbitration and CCMA experience to effectively manage employee disputes and disciplinary proceedings, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
- Leading recruitment efforts for senior positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding high-caliber talent.
- Implementing change management initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness and improve employee engagement and productivity.
- Providing expertise in blue-collar HR matters, including union relations, collective bargaining, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Supporting managers in performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, feedback, and development planning.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address HR-related challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field. BCom Honors preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in the logistics or waste management industry.
- Proven experience in arbitration and CCMA proceedings, with a strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting senior positions and managing full-cycle recruitment processes.
- Expertise in change management and performance management methodologies and best practices.
- Experience working with blue-collar employees and understanding their unique HR needs and challenges.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
