About the position

SENTECH Operations is looking for Head: Northern Region to ensure the efficient and effective operations of SENTECH's regions. The role is responsible for overseeing and optimising operational activities to support the SENTECH's mission and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:
? B-Tech/Degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or equivalent.
? An Honours Degree or MBA/MBL will be an added advantage.

Experience:
? 8 years' experience within the telecommunications industry, with 5 years' experience in a middle management role.
? Experience in managing budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
? Experience in network performance management in the telecommunications industry.

Knowledge:
? In-depth knowledge of the South African telecommunications industry.
? Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications and Managed Infrastructure technologies, services and market dynamics within South Africa.
?Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
?Ability to analyse and identify market trends, customer needs and competitive threats.
?Excellent strategic planning and project management abilities.
?Strong knowledge of South African telecommunications regulations and standards.
?Excellent financial acumen and budget management skills.
?Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
?Proven track record of implementing process improvements and delivering results.
?Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
?Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Prescripts.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
?Develop, maintain and lead the implementation of the regional strategy, while ensuring that it is aligned to the Managed Infrastructure objectives.
?Drive the prioritisation of regional offerings to clients.
?Drive innovation and customer engagement.
?Drive the execution of the regional activities.
?Manage the regional function's budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment to financial targets.
?Assess financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
?Drive cost-effectiveness of the regional operations
?Manage compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for the function.
?Drive adherence to internal policies and procedures for the function
?Oversee the planning, design, deployment, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure within the region.
?Ensure the network's reliability, availability, and scalability to meet customer demands.
?Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
?Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address network performance issues.
?Monitor and assess the region's network capacity and recommend expansions or upgrades as necessary.
?Ensure compliance with all relevant telecommunications regulations, standards, and licensing requirements within the region.
?Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory issues or audits.
?Identify and mitigate compliance risks and propose necessary corrective actions.
?Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
?Manage vendor relationships and resolve disputes or issues in a timely manner.
?Continuously seek cost-effective and high-quality sourcing options.
?Manage relationships with key partners, both internal and external to SENTECH, specifically regulators, government, customers, and suppliers.
?Provide continuous feedback to the managed infrastructure team on stakeholder relationships.
?Manage the customer satisfaction levels from surveys and feedback received.
?Use customer feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the managed infrastructure business unit.
?Manage a collaborative culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
?Provide clear direction and support to the team to achieve the managed infrastructure objectives.
?Manage, coach and mentor the regional operations staff.
