Financial Manager

About the position

An exciting opportunity exists for a Financial Manager with a global logistics business.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the Business Unit Finance Department and staff management
• Reviewing and signing off on group balance sheet accounts
• Ensuring timeous reconciliations and no long outstanding items
• Responsible for month-end and ad hoc journal entries and general ledger management
• Preparation of monthly financial packs for circulation to management committee and Exco
• Prepare Annual financial statements up to financial level
• Responsible for month-end close, daily cash management and billing runs
• Assist with the management of debtor recoveries
• Prepare results up to trial balance and management accounts
• Manage relationships with the bank in conjunction with head office
• Completion and submission of statutory reports such as VAT and PAYE
• Maintain and improve all areas of internal control to ensure adequate risk management
• Preparation of tax computations
• Compilation of annual budgets
• Assist with the preparation of interim and yearly financial packs for the business unit and the auditors
• Responsible for the actioning of audit recommendations
• Develop accounting systems and report writers to assist the business with managing key activities

Requirements:

• BCom degree (minimum requirement)
• Experience with full function accounting
• Excel Advanced experience
• People management experience
• A self-starter and deadline-driven
• Attention to detail
