About the position
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Accounting or Finance. Completion of articles with a recognized professional accounting body (SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years of experience within the financial and insurance industry. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role. Proven track record of success in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with financial modeling and forecasting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage). Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
