About the position
We are looking for a candidate to join as an Analyst / Consultant in the rapidly growing Infrastructure Advisory team. This position will be based in Johannesburg, but might involve some short term travel from time to time, and fills an integral role that involves working closely with the rest of the advisory team to execute a wide variety of challenging and exciting engagements related to the planning, development, delivery and operations of major economic and social infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities will include: To qualify for the role, you must have
-Conduct industry specific research and desktop or other forms of feasibility studies on potential strategic projects and produce various forms of reports and/or presentations;
- Undertake feasibility studies and compile feasibility study reports;
- Undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis of financials and documentation to develop and report findings relevant to the client;
- Research accounting, tax and financial market information to be used in modelling, scenario analysis and negotiation support;
- Develop financial models;
- Consult, lead and manage projects and programmes for clients;
- Source new strategic potential investments and appraise investment proposals as well as coordinating and undertaking due diligence thereof;
- Assist in projects related to corporate and project finance, valuation and transaction support services in industries aligned to company strategic focus
-Structure investments and projects and, manage, and negotiation support
-Draft marketing materials and transaction proposals
-Draft reports and presentations for client meetings;
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Undergraduate and postgraduate degree necessary (B.Comm, B.BSci, B.AccSci, [URL Removed] PGDipAccor other related degree)
- Advanced financial modelling skills, ideally with experience and knowledge of VBA in Excel
- Strong spreadsheet skills and computer skills
- Good working knowledge of the Finance and Accounting concepts and principles
- Good working knowledge of key commercial statutes and regulation (Tax, Companies Act).
- Excellent knowledge of financial markets and instruments
-2+ years of relevant work experience, with experience in commercial, financial and strategic analysis related to major infrastructure projects
- Experience and/or knowledge of government policy-making as it relates to infrastructure
- Working knowledge of South African debt financing and capital markets; and/or of global infrastructure and project financing markets
- Understanding of key business drivers of players in the infrastructure secto
