DUR002117 - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – COMMODITIES – (JHB NORTH)

Purpose of the Job:
This Sub-Saharan exporter of animal agriculture products is seeking a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to ensure the financial integrity of their trading operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric
  • B.Com Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years Finance Experience
  • Must be familiar with Western Cape crops & the commercial farming community.
  • Commodities experience preferred

Technical Competencies & Experience:

  • Oversee a high volume of creditors transactions
  • Perform regular reconciliations of creditors accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely payments to suppliers
  • Monitor cash flows related to trading activities, forecasting cash requirements, and facilitating cross-border payments
  • Manage banking relationships and transactions, including processing payments and facilitating cross-border transactions.
  • Conduct regular stock reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting of inventory levels and valuation.
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales transactions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Work closely with the trading team to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
