About the position
The overall purpose of this position is to oversee the finance functions of the division, whose main business is the provision of integrated financial services. The role's key focus is to ensure the full management of the day-to-day financial operations and manage compliance to all group policies as well as accounting standards.
Key areas of responsibility (Not totally inclusive):
- Oversight and review of all accounting functions in the prescribed area of responsibility
- Influencing and driving the achievement of agreed/planned financial targets
- Maintaining control over general accounting processes and procedures
- Consolidating, analysing, and reporting on financial performance, as well as implementing corrective, preventative, and improvement initiatives required to achieve financial strategies and targets
- Developing and implementing improvements to the control framework to support accurate financial reporting and mitigation of risks
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transaction processing in SAP (general ledger system) and Credit Ease (loan management system)
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated financial reports/ statistics
- Preparation of prescribed reports for submission to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and other regulatory bodies
- Planning of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting - continuous process optimization
Qualifications, experience, and other competencies required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting
- CA(SA) an added advantage
- 5-8 years' experience as a Finance Manager (preferably in financial services)
- Experience with external audit management
- Computer literate in MS Office suite with Advanced Excel
- SAP knowledge and experience
- Updated IFRS knowledge
- Financial acumen in Planning & Budgeting
- Attention to detail and analytical
- Administration, interpersonal communication, and customer liaison skills
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license
- Clear criminal record
