Finance Data Analyst

About the position

National organisation within the "investments and financial services industry" requires a Finance Data Analyst for the Johannesburg Branch.  This position is based in Sandton.
Purpose of role

• Financial data management & data processing
• Create financial models.
• Management Information analysis
• Business Information models
• Analysing data trends
• Interpreting and visualizing data
• Data quality
• Building automation for finance and operations team

Tools/Systems

• XLS; Power Bi; Internal Applications (proprietary systems built in- house)

Responsibilities

• Head office-based role working with Finance Manager, Data team & IT.
• Understanding of the Adviceworx Operating Model & business processes.
• Building data models
• Automating data models
• Update dashboards as per internal SLAs.

 
Personal and Company Development

• Ensure alignment to company development.
• Reassess the self-management principle continuously and self –measure.
• Ability to work with senior resources to achieve strategic initiatives.
• Establish the systems and alignment of resources to enable a sustainable Production environment.

 
Competencies

• Ability to function at an operational level and work well within a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Technical and IT proficient, need to be comfortable to work with data & analyse data.
• Strong financial background
• Self - motivated to ensure personal and professional improvement.
• Action orientated and pro-active.
• Computer literacy: Data Management, MSOffice (advanced Excel), Power BI (preferable but not essential)

 
Qualifications and Experience

• Appropriate qualification.
• Experience in financial services / Wealth Management (beneficial)
• Exposure to Power BI (Beneficial)
