About the position
Multinational firm in manufacturing industry requires seasoned cost accountant to assist the FM, Production, supply chain and to provide management with data and analysis reports relating to the production costs of the company. The incumbent will help to plan, budget and monitor performance, set standard unit costs and recommend appropriate cost-saving opportunities.
Minimum requirements:
- BCom degree in C&M Accounting
- CIMA - highly desirable
- Minimum 7 years' experience in similar role at a manufacturing business.
- SAGE or similar ERP experience.
- advertised salary is a CTC package
- Willing and able to work alternative Saturdays - non-negotiable
Main responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the company's operations.
- Costing: Utilise costing methods to accurately determine the cost of production of various products.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing insights into cost trends and variances, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Variance Analysis: Analyse and interpret variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigating reasons for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency, reduce production costs and maximize profitability.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts across the company.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making by management.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to costs, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Assisting Financial Manager with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
