Cost & Management Accountant

About the position

This role is pivotal in driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the group of companies within the agro-processing and consumer goods manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will handle comprehensive cost analysis and management accounting to support strategic financial decisions.

You will be based at a tranquil farm-like setting in Pyramid, apx 15 km north of Sefako Makgatho Drive (Pretoria).
Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and oversee cost management systems.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for management.
• Collaborate with department heads to align financial strategies and operational efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Travel frequently within Gauten
• Maintenance of weekly and monthly product costings
• Maintenance of product recipes and costings
• Monthly inventory valuation reporting and analysis

Qualifications and Experience:

• B Com degree in Cost & Management Accounting and/or professional accreditation with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
• At least 4 years' proven experience in cost and management accounting in FMCG, agriculture or related industry.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting processes.
• Proficient in financial software and Excel. Meat Matrix highly advantageous.

Skills:

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Additional Requirements:

• Own car and valid driver’s license, as the role involves significant travel.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the Gauteng region and to Polokwane.
