About the position

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER/ MEMBER SERVICES LIAISON

JOB PURPOSE AND ROLE WITHIN ORGANISATION

The Company seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to the role of Member Services Liaison who will build and maintain relationships to grow the company's member base and fulfil a business development role with clients.

Membership plays a vital role in relation to the company's reputation, therefore as a member services liaison you will be at the forefront of servicing our members and providing excellent customer service in all aspects of the business.

Depending on the area of membership service offerings you will be required to assist in all areas pertaining to membership i.e., Individual and Corporate membership services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The incumbent will be required to:

  • Create and manage business relationships with identified corporate businesses and
  • organisational decision makers to build the membership base and sell the company's products and services.
  • Ensure growth in corporate membership uptake, year on year.
  • Identify corporate membership needs and implement solutions, where required.
  • Serve as an intermediary between the clients and the company.
  • Routine communication with all corporate members of the company.
  • Collecting data, tracking corporate membership statistics, and preparing reports on corporate memberships monthly and yearly.
  • Create awareness of the company's membership and other services with corporate members.
  • Devise strategies for promoting products and services.
  • Handling all questions, information requests and complaints regarding corporate

membership.

  • Maintaining and updating corporate membership records.
  • Assisting with member communication activities.
  • Coordinating with the finance department to track membership revenue.
  • Preparing membership marketing materials.
  • Attending member events.
  • Updating of the membership Corporate and Individual Member Pipeline on a regular basis.
  • Manage retention of members as stated in the annual business plan.
  • Learn the company's products and service offerings, features, and pricing.
  • Identify current bottlenecks in current processes and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Stay up to date with trends and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for products and up-sell.
  • Identify opportunities for new client acquisition.
  • Find prospective clients and new target segments.
  • Preparing and submitting proposals.
  • Any other work assigned.
  • Represent the company at Member networking functions.
  • Administrative support.
  • Promotion of the company and services to all potential clients / members.
  • Follow up on any outstanding debtors.
  • The hours of work are in accordance with the company's policies but would vary dependent on the situation.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Certificate or Diploma in Business management/Administration/Sales/Marketing will be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in member administration and/or customer relations or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • 3 years' experience as a liaison, with a sales background.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Sense of pride and ownership in your performance and its impact on company success.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving abilities.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sales and marketing skills.
  • Business development, relationship management and sales experience.
  • High standard of record keeping and administration.

SALARY RANGE

R150 000 - R300 000 depending on experience in relation to the job spec.
