About the position
Psybergate is an IT company that builds bespoke software solutions and provides highly skilled resources to its clients.
We are looking for a Senior Data Warehouse Developer to join our financial services client based in Centurion.
What you will be doing:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data warehouse solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Build and enhance Power BI solutions from high-level technical and business requirements.
- Perform quality assurance checks and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Configure real-time data replication using tools such as Stelo SQDR.
- Provide operational support, troubleshoot errors, and resolve data queries.
- Work with technical stakeholders to identify data sources, understand metadata, and define solutions.
- Promote data governance principles, data quality standards, and best practices.
- Convert legacy Excel reports into Power BI dashboards.
- Design professional reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
- Test, debug, and reconcile data against source systems.
- Communicate progress and present insights in easily understandable formats.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide analytical observations.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders on data requirements.
- Monitor and optimise data warehouse performance.
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Data Warehouse Developer or related role.
- 3-year degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, etc.).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing methodologies (Kimball, Inmon).
- Experience with data modelling (dimensional modelling, star and snowflake schemas).
- Experience with Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, BigQuery) is advantageous.
- Experience working with SQL Server 2022 and MS T-SQL.
- Experience with data extraction, data analysis, data reconciliation, and data visualisation.
- Exposure to data replication tools (Stelo SQDR, Qlik Replicate, etc.).
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, report writing, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
