About the position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a leading corporate law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal accounting, with proven experience managing trust and business accounts in compliance with Legal Practice Council (LPC) requirements and proficiency in Ghost [URL Removed] successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrityof financial data and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and firm-specificaccounting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance for multiple practice areas within the firm
  • Administer and reconcile trust and business accounts in line with Legal Practice Council (LPC) and firm compliance standards
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance reports for senior management
  • Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
  • Oversee billing, collections, and payments processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors as required
  • Implement and uphold robust financial controls and reporting procedures
  • Supervise and mentor junior finance or bookkeeping staff where applicable
  • Collaborate with partners, department heads, and other internal stakeholders on financial and operational matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper within a large law firm
  • Proficiency in Ghost Practice (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of trust accounting principles and LPC compliance requirements
  • Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualification (Diploma in Accounting / Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent)
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a structured corporate environment
