They need someone decisive. Assertive. Commercially sharp. Someone who can walk into a room full of strong personalities and still hold the line on controls, compliance and financial integrity.



Our client is a major mining conglomerate based in Durban North, operating in a fast-moving industry where precision, accountability and resilience are non-negotiable. They’re looking for a Risk & Compliance Finance Manager to strengthen governance, tighten controls and support the business in navigating financial and operational risk. You’ll work closely with leadership across the business, balancing compliance with commercial reality, because in mining, things move quickly and the finance team needs to keep up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial risk management and strengthen compliance frameworks
  • Review internal controls, policies and governance processes
  • Identify operational and financial risk areas and recommend corrective action
  • Support audits, compliance reviews and regulatory reporting
  • Monitor financial controls, reconciliations and reporting accuracy
  • Partner with operational teams to improve accountability and reduce risk exposure
  • Assist with process improvements and implementation of stronger financial controls
  • Prepare reports and insights for senior leadership and management committees

Job Experience and Skills Required

  • CA(SA)
  • 1+ years’ post-article experience
  • Strong academic results and notable academic achievements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Assertive personality with the confidence to make decisions and challenge where needed
  • Comfortable operating in a tough, high-pressure industry environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders across the business
  • Mining, industrial or operational industry exposure advantageous
