About the position

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Project Manager to work with the IT Business Partner Head & Business Product Owners to define the product & technical delivery and co-ordination. This is a key and critical role that is required to manage the Bank Point of Sale workstream; Global Platform workstream and API workstream and project that fall within the Business Banking area. These workstreams and projects are complex and spans across multiple functional areas within the bank as well as 3rd party providers. The role will interface with senior managers and executives and requires a good communication skill and a calm demeanour under pressure. An individual who can see the bigger picture and manage multiple deliveries and interactions at the same time is key for this role.

  • Strong Agile knowledge i.e. scrum methodology
  • Ensuring the Agile ceremonies are scheduled
  • Scheduling and designation of project tasks to team members
  • Execution of each phase of the project
  • Communicating with all stakeholders
  • Collaborating with area heads to achieve a common goal
  • Act as the single point of partnership & assume responsibility for managing the senior business interface (product owner) relationship for the co-ordination and delivery of the workstreams and projects
  • Assume one stop shop accountability for the delivery of the product & solutions
  • Collaborate across the tech value chain (CSO, CTO, etc.) to guide the business on the appropriate technical solution (cost to value) & the range of strategic technical choices to be made
  • Lead the detailed scoping, prioritisation & integration planning for the design & deployment of products & services with & across multiple stakeholder groups (Front End, Back End & Integration) - (aligned to solution blueprints)
  • Meaningfully contribute & ensure solutions align to the design and direction of the Group Infrastructure standards and practices e.g. OLA's, IAAS, PAAS, SAAS, Containerisation etc.
  • Strategically & operationally monitor the performance of products and services (all applications) - ensuring ongoing optimization & cost to value for our businesses (think bank wide)

  • This role requires the candidate to have strong project management and agile methodology experience.
  • Manage all phases of projects, including initiation, planning, execution, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
  • Develop detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates, and resource plans in collaboration with all project stakeholders.
  • Document and keep track of all projects, administration of own projects is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management processes and systems development methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and automated project planning tools required.
  • Manage project scope and risks. Investigate and make recommendations on issues that challenge scope boundaries.
  • Monitor and report on project progress highlighting critical issues for management, and, as necessary, coordinate the development, discussion, and approval of corrective action and/or contingency plans.
  • Manage stakeholder relations to ensure that project delivery expectations are specified and met.
  • Plan and implement change management processes, including activities such as training, communication, and documentation.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet/exceed the project sponsor's specified expectations.
  • Ensure project activities and deliverables adhere to internal quality standards.
  • Provide clear direction and motivation to project team.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Run daily, weekly and monthly agile rituals efficiently and strictly (Grooming sessions; demos etc)
  • Track work progress to identify blockages and developer divergence from allocated tasks
  • Manages Business, Operational Staff and Product owners from interference with Development Structure
  • Police channels for submission of development work requests
  • Manages stories that do not contain the right level of detail from entering the Dev Structure
  • Blocks changes to work once in development without following the proper re-evaluation process
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Guide and Coach the team to follow Agile practices
  • Guide and coach the team to be self organised
  • Expert in time estimations and planning
  • Create visibility of the progress on the work streams in terms of monthly reporting to stakeholders and executives
  • Represent the work in progress at Project Steering level.
  • Coach, mentor, train and otherwise support other team members in the fulfilment of their project support functions;
  • Able to work efficiently with minimal direction
  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures provided
  • Ensure Azure and Teams is updated accordingly for audit purposes
  • REQUIREMENTS (What is required to perform the Essential Duties)
    Minimum Ideal
    Qualifications
  • PMP, CAPM, Agile certification or equivalent
  • Project management or related degree required
  • CAPM; PMP: Scrum Master certification
    Experience
  • Min 5 years' experience successfully managing projects of all sizes utilising effective project management methodologies (Agile & Waterfall) and associated processes, practices, and deliverables
