Introduction:
A leading private hospital in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will have solid ICU experience, demonstrate clinical excellence, and deliver safe, evidence-based patient care in a high-acuity setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor, evaluate, and respond to patients’ vital signs and conditions.
- Administer medications, manage ventilators, and assist with invasive procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, health, and safety protocols.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum of 2 years’ ICU nursing experience in a private or public hospital setting.
- Sound clinical judgment and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
