Position: O&M Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Power Generation
Location: West Africa
Contract Type: Fixed-term/ Project-based (1 year, possible renewable)

A global energy technology company is seeking an experienced O&M Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its operations and maintenance team at a major power generation plant. This role is critical for ensuring the highest standards of mechanical maintenance, safety, and reliability. Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of combined cycle power plants
- Proven working experience in the service/maintenance sector of industrial plants, with a strong preference for power generation
- Experience working in a multinational, project-based environment is highly valued
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, confident interacting at all organizational levels
- Excellent command of the English language (French or Portuguese advantageous)
- A quality-oriented, proactive team player with strong organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Mechanical Maintenance policies, codes, and standards, ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Work independently and provide technical mentorship to technicians and fellow engineers
- Manage sophisticated engineering tasks and maintenance activities, employing innovative and effective solutions
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed to the highest quality standards, within budget and on schedule
- Diagnose complex problems and determine the most effective technical and professional solutions
- Create, update, and implement work plans and work orders based on OEM recommendations, field notifications, best practices, and internal procedures
- Utilize the plant management system for reporting, performing work, and requesting materials
- Champion Health & Safety by strictly adhering to and enforcing all plant safety laws and procedures
