Education requirements:

  • Comm Degree
  • Experience as Sales manager and managing and directing sales team of at least 5 years
  • Knowledge of market research
  • Technical sales skills
  • Solid understanding of digital sales platform
  • Experience in relevant software applications (Pastel and Excel, Honeybee advantageous)

Job skills and requirements:

  • Leadership skills. Job is to motivate employees and work with them to reach targets. Resolve conflicts
  • Analytical skills. Analyse sales figures and find weaknesses, cost saving opportunities and redundancies
  • Customer Service. Face to face Communication with customers to resolve queries
  • Communication skills. Need to be a good listener and speaker
  • Willing to learn the products by attending technical training and informal Q&A's
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Own transport. Valid drivers license

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing sales team
  • Designing and implementing strategic sales plans to expand customer base and ensure strong presence in the market
  • Setting objectives (KPI's), coaching and performance monitoring of sales team
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Present sales reports and realistic forecasts to management
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products (both own and competitor) and the competition status
  • Investigates lost sales and customer accounts
  • Ensure sales team have necessary resources to perform properly
  • Liase with other company functions to ensure achievement of sales objectives
  • Develop online sales platform
  • Co-ordinate and monitor online sales activity
  • Develop promotional ideas and material
  • Cultivate effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key accounts

Desired Skills

  • B.Comm Degree (Beneficial)
  • At least 5 years in a Sales Managerial position
