About the Position

A very reputable Global and Logistics company seeks a Transport Controller to join their dynamic team. To Provide administrative and financial services to be able to ensure that an effective, accurate, administrative and effective operation is achieved.Duties and Responsibilities:• Communication Skills• Provide excellent communication to all Customers, Suppliers and Executive Management.• Customer Service• Working with Customers, planning routes and scheduling delivery and always meeting and exceeding Customers expectations. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, both internal and external.• Management of Staff• Management of administration staff and drivers (8 Ton Vehicles) making sure Internal processes are completed in accordance with our system and within the prescribed handling period• Invoicing Procedures• Ensure all transport external movements are Invoiced and POD are delivered on time to all customers and or finance departments.• Financial and Procedural Goals• Making sure the Operation meets its targets and implementing procedures and policy to deliver a Superior Service to all Customers.• Credit Application Process• Transport Suppliers Credit Applications are completed and copies GIT cover on file and in order per every load.• Supplier Rates• To negotiate the most competitive Road Transport rates in the Industry with reliable Suppliers that deliver a Superior Service to our Company.• Develop Tracking System• Develop and design a controlled system keeping all Customers updated on the daily movement and delivery of cargo. Plan and coordinate• Road Haulage, distribution and Transport Operations routes and schedules. Handle Customer queries and resolve within 24 hours.• Monthly Reporting• Putting together monthly performance reports for Transport Manager.• Maintenance and Care of Vehicles• Arranging 8 ton vehicles maintenance and or any other purchase of vehicles.• New Business Development• Coordinating business contracts and assisting with new development business.Minimum Requirements:• Analytical thinker with mathematical abilities.• Excellent organisation skills required to manage tight deadlines.• Strong leadership to motivated a team.• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. A matric certificate• Certification or diploma in the logistics an advantage• Knowledge of Pastel evolution will be an advantage.• Working experience of at least 4 — 5 years in Transport for Medium / Large business.• Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments of the organisation.• Experience of managing a team of people• Experience of negotiating excellent transport rates.
