About the position

Are you the kind of Financial Manager who actually likes getting your hands dirty in the numbers? Not just reviewing dashboards. Not just signing off reports. We’re talking real finance, sleeves rolled up, Excel open, reconciliations tight and month-end under control.
Our client is a major player in the IT industry, based in Johannesburg East, operating in a fast-moving, tech-driven environment where finance needs to be sharp, agile and commercially aware. They’re looking for a hands-on Financial Manager who’s comfortable operating in the detail, someone who can own reporting, controls, compliance and analysis while still partnering with leadership on business decisions. This is not a “sit back and delegate” environment. It’s for someone who enjoys being in the engine room of finance and making sure every moving part works exactly as it should.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full financial reporting function and month-end close process
• Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and reporting packs
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Manage IFRS compliance, including IFRS 16 accounting
• Handle reconciliations, journals and balance sheet integrity
• Support audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting
• Monitor cash flow, payments and financial controls
• Partner with operational teams and leadership on financial performance and insights.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen finance efficiencies

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Qualified CA(SA) or CIMA
• 4+ years’ post-articles experience in a Financial Management role
• Strong IFRS 16 experience essential
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Hands-on approach with strong technical and operational finance capability
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
