As a result of an awarded major EPCM project in Namibia, the client is seeking a motivated Expeditor/Logistics professional to join the on-site project team on a 6:2 roster.
- Monitor and update the status of orders from procurement to delivery.
- Prioritize urgent orders and identify potential delays early.
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to site.
- Facilitate communication to avoid bottlenecks and ensure alignment.
- Track inventory levels and ensure critical items are available when needed.
- Coordinate logistics to prevent downtime due to material shortages.
- Troubleshoot delays, damaged shipments, or supply disruptions.
- Implement alternative solutions to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to troubleshoot supply chain issues and adapt to changing priorities.
- Hands-on experience with tracking orders, managing stock levels, and expediting critical items.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and technical spare parts identification.
- Experience in a mining, construction, or industrial environment is highly valued.
- Understanding of site operations and the urgency of material delivery in remote or high-pressure settings.
- 2–4 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain coordination.
- Familiarity with shipping, freight, and inventory management systems.
