About the position

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Employee Relations Practitioner on a temporary basis within the Human Resources and Stakeholder Management environment. (12 Months Contract)

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate grievance management processes.
  • Conduct investigations and compile grievance reports.
  • Support collective bargaining and dispute resolution processes.
  • Facilitate disputes at GPSSBC and provide administrative support during proceedings.
  • Coordinate misconduct and disciplinary processes within prescribed timeframes.
  • Draft reports, submissions, memos, minutes, and related documentation.
  • Maintain databases and records relating to labour relations matters.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and awareness sessions on employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Capture labour relations cases on Persal and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide functional advice and guidance to employees and management.
  • Assist with monthly management reports, trend analysis, and risk reporting.

Minimum Requirements- NQF Level 6 qualification in Labour Relations, Labour Law, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Relations, or an equivalent relevant qualification.- Minimum of 2 years' experience within a labour relations environment.- Knowledge of labour legislation including the LRA, BCEA, EEA, and related frameworks.- Understanding of Public Service regulations, policies, and procedures.- Experience in grievance handling, dispute management, and disciplinary processes.- Strong administrative, analytical, and communication skills.- Ability to work independently and engage with stakeholders at various levels.- Competencies and Skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Planning and organising skills- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills- Research and analytical ability- Service delivery orientation- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills- Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality- Proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
