About the position
A well-known and established water treatment solutions company requires the above to develop new and improved water treatment chemical formulations. Leading SHEQ awareness and ensuring product quality and performance consistency maintaining ISO compliance and customer specifications.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A BSc / BTech or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related qualification is essential for this role.
- Previous experience having worked within a chemical or related laboratory is essential for the role.
- Previous experience having worked within a laboratory within the water treatment industry is preferred but not essential.
- A sound knowledge of water treatment chemistry (scale, corrosion, and microbiological control), would be an advantage.
- Must have strong laboratory analytical skills and experience with wet and instrumental techniques.
- Must be familiar with ISO 9001, management systems and training documentation requirements.
- Experience working with [Phone Number Removed];) is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in analytical testing techniques (e.g., titration, pH, conductivity, ICP, HPLC, or spectrophotometry) is preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical process scale-up and industrial blending/manufacturing operations is preferred.
- Must be computer literate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing new and improved water treatment chemical formulations. Leading SHEQ awareness and ensuring product quality and performance consistency maintaining ISO compliance and customer specifications.
- Supporting production, quality assurance, and product development to maintain compliance with company standards, ISO systems, and customer specifications.
- Conducting toolbox training sessions for factory personnel and lead the SHEQ awareness and ISO compliance.
- Designing and developing new formulations for industrial and municipal water treatment applications (e.g., antiscalants, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, coagulants, dispersants).
- Evaluating new raw materials, technologies, and chemical additives for potential inclusion in formulations.
- Conducting laboratory and pilot-scale trials to optimise product performance and cost.
- Assisting in the design, development, and optimisation of water treatment formulations (boiler, cooling, and wastewater).
- Conducting laboratory and pilot trials to assess product performance.
- Reviewing and reformulating products for cost reduction, performance improvement, or compliance with environmental standards.
- Reviewing and adjusting formulations in response to supply chain or customer requirements.
- Providing technical assistance to the production team on product formulations, blending procedures, and process troubleshooting.
- Investigating and resolving production or quality issues in collaboration with operations staff.
- Supporting customer service and sales teams with product information, performance data, and technical advice.
- Accountable for maintaining the accredited present high ISO 9001-2015 standard.
- Ensuring the factories work in accordance with the ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
