Background on Wordworks:

Wordworks is a well-established, dynamic, and growing non-profit organization that focuses on early language and literacy development in the first eight years of children’s lives through the adults that care for and work with them at home, in schools and ECD centers, and in the community.

We are known for our high-quality, multilingual resources and training and for our innovative and effective programs. We support a strong network of schools and ECD centers that use these programs in Cape Town, as well as NGOs that use our programs and materials in their own networks around the country. We work closely with the government to support provincial initiatives to support early literacy development.

Red INK is a non-profit, public-benefit organization that was founded in 2009 to provide resources, education, and development in early math and Literacy. The organization offers a range of innovations that provide access to quality early childhood teaching and learning programs and materials.

Red INK’s vision is to create learning environments that inspire and motivate children and promote positive early learning experiences and a solid foundation for future success at school. Its mission is to provide quality, easy-to-access support and resources to practitioners, teachers, trainers, and parents across South Africa’s diverse education contexts.

Red INK focuses on the years 4–9 and offers resources for play-based learning, early reading and writing, and early mathematics.
