Wi-Fi Specialist
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (12 Months)

SENTECH is looking for Wi-Fi Specialist who will be responsible for the design, planning, development, specification, procurement, implementation and optimisation of all Wi-Fi systems and solutions required by the company to serve its client base.
The incumbent will further define the Wi-Fi ecosystem of solutions for the organisation, devise network strategies for Wi-Fi customer solutions, provide high-level support on Wi-Fi networks and solutions and be overall responsible for drafting design, implementation, management, and operational guidelines for the Wi-Fi ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
- Devise network strategies for Wi-Fi customer solutions and ensure alignment between strategy and designs.
- Design, plan, optimize and implement Wi-Fi customer solutions and services.
- Capacity planning on the wireless network infrastructure.
- Provide high-level support on Wi-Fi networks.
- Willingness to work after hours and weekends.
- Develop, review and update network documentation, processes and procedures.
- Keep abreast of the latest technologies and assist in aligning designs, optimizations and planning with the strategy.
- Test new technologies and equipment.
- Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and integration of third-party products and technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer requirements and ensure solutions align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that network designs are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement designs
- Ensure availability of network performance reports periodically
- Ensure real-time visibility of network operation
- Maintain detailed documentation of solution designs, configurations, and implementation processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- CCIE Enterprise Wireless or similar certification is preferred
Experience:
- 5 years relevant experience in the telecommunications industry with at least 3 years in a Wireless Internet Service Provider (ISP) environment
- Experience in design, survey and implementation of Wi-Fi systems / solutions
- Experience in RF Planning and Design
- Experience in TCP/IP and routing protocols
- Experience in Wi-Fi analytics
- IP, ISP and VoIP experience
- Competence in Microsoft Windows, Linux/UNIX/*BSD operating systems and Microsoft Office
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of broadband technologies, including fibre-optic networks, microwave point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networks, broadband core, distribution and access networks.
- Understanding of value-added services such VoIP, SD-WAN, IoT
- Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security measures.
- Understanding of ISP regulatory requirements in South Africa.
- Understanding of the broadband industry standards and best practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of W-Fi network solutions, Broadband network integration, IP networks and RF networks
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members.
