About the position
- Liaising effectively with our Customers,
- Monitor stock on the Truck at delivery / collection points to prevent theft,
- Able to read and understand the invoice,
- Ensure that all duties allocated are carried out and completed,
- Adhere to Route schedule at all times,
- Complete the vehicle log books as required,
- Abide by all laws regarding the use of vehicles on public roads,
- All fines due to negligence are for your own account,
- Must check the truck's brake, controls, fuel, content, etc. on daily basis before starting out,
- Must be punctual and stringent about timings and make no delay in deliveries,
- Must generously assist in loading,
- Responsible for Health and Safety in area of responsibility,
- Assist in Dispatch / factory with general Dispatch / factory duties if runs are finished early or if requested to do so by the Dispatch Team Leader,
- Must be prepared to work in any traffic, weather and timing according to the Company needs and adhere to company FSSC 22000 standards / policy,
- Participate and support Company's food safety and quality objectives,
- Report all problems with Food Safety to the QA Manager who will initiate and record actions.
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Grade 12
- Sound literacy and numeric skills,
- Must have a valid code 10 or 14 driver's license and PDP,
- Proven work experience as a Truck Driver and experience in driving a heavy load truck with refrigeration will be an added advantage.
- Good Communication Skills
